Sick and tired of being sick and tired

In my line of work whenever a customer reports a bug in a software, we jokingly say – “it’s working as designed”. That surely doesn’t mean that it’s not going to get fixed.

Choosing to move into willingness and being willing to choose is a positive way of living. It is saying, “Hey, I’m worth moving toward being different without pain and resentments. I value myself and others enough to choose to make changes now rather than wait until I can’t stand not making a choice.” It is a completely different perspective than waiting until it hurts to make choices. The majority of us are very aware of our character, but often it isn’t until we are “sick and tired of being sick and tired” that we become willing to change.

Choosing to be willing before your life turns into a soap opera is hands down the smarter move. It’s like saying, “I’m ready to make some changes now, before things get so dramatic even my houseplants start giving me concerned looks.” There’s real wisdom in deciding to value yourself, and everyone else in your orbit, enough to actually do something now rather than holding out for the classic “I just can’t take it anymore” moment.

Let’s be real, we all know our little oddities. Most of us could map out our own elaborate quirks like a treasure hunt if only anyone else wanted the map. Yet for some odd reason, we wait until we’re absolutely frazzled, binge-watching motivational videos, talking to our toaster, or swearing every piece of laundry is judging us, before finally making a change. But hey, why not shake things up while you still have a sense of humour.
